Look What You Make Possible

“Playing the whole game at the junior level” is the learning concept at the crux of SPSN, St. Paul’s Sports Network. The on-campus sports broadcasting club gives middle and upper school students an apprenticeship-style opportunity to stretch themselves, technically and creatively, while helping to grow the school’s fan base.

Students who participated in our middle school Costa Rica “Sun and Service Trip” explored the beauty of Costa Rica, admiring the country’s natural attractions, such as volcanos and hot springs, as well as observing animals native to the region. During this seven day trip, middle school students visited the country's many parks such as Arenal Volcano National Park, Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, Santa Elena Biological Reserve, and Manuel Antonio National Park. 

Through our middle school "May Days" program, students relive history, learn more about the world around them, and gain a greater understanding of their hometown of Baltimore by visiting local museums, touring Baltimore’s food markets, collaborating on a woodworking project, and participating in service learning activities. Programs like "May Days" provide experiential learning opportunities for our students and are made possible by donor support of the ONE Fund.

Thanks to the generosity of ONE Fund donors, 35 percent of St. Paul’s students and their families received need-based tuition assistance this school year. We are grateful for the donors who direct their ONE Fund gifts to support tuition assistance, giving students the opportunity to receive a St. Paul’s education.

Off-campus trips to Echo Hill Outdoor School began 50 years ago for students at St. Paul’s School for Girls. Support of the ONE Fund allows these traditions to thrive. “The highlight of our trip was the Stick Ceremony on the final night, where we shared how the week had impacted us.” – Janelle G. ‘25

Gifts to the ONE Fund supported St. Paul’s Pre and Lower School faculty and their professional development opportunity to learn about “Conscious-Discipline,” an evidence-based approach to emotional regulation and behavior management. Using a foundation of safety, connection, and problem-solving in the classroom, students now have designated self-regulation spaces with tools to assist them when emotions are overwhelming.

Forty members of the class of 2024 spent the day shadowing an industry of their choice, gaining first-hand experience and invaluable insights into various careers and professions.

Faculty from all three divisions at St. Paul’s were able to attend the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) People of Color Conference in San Antonio, where nearly 8,000 attendees from independent schools across the country gathered to collaborate on topics of diversity in schools, participate in inspiring workshops and learn from compelling speakers, including Nikki Giovanni. 

Students in grades 5 through 12 at SPSG can explore the school’s unique and rigorous financial literacy curriculum, which combines focused coursework, industry visits, elective experiences, and off-campus internships in economics and finance. 

In the lower school, second grade students learn the fundamentals of bike riding from St. Paul’s resident bike pro, legend, and longstanding faculty member Skip Darrell ’60.  

Upper school students from Paul’s School for Boys and St. Paul’s School for Girls attended the Second Annual Maryland Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Conference, hosted by Loyola Blakefield.

Our fifth and sixth grade production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s “Mary Poppins Jr.” was a huge success. Thank you for your gifts to the One St. Paul's Fund that provides stage props and equipment to support our students in the performing arts program.

Second grade students took a trip to the Smithsonian National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute in Washington, D.C. Your support of the One St. Paul’s Fund offers these fun and exciting opportunities.

Boys’ middle school students participate in a wide range of service activities that help our students build connections with each other and the greater community around them.

Sixth grade students from St. Paul’s School for Girls visited the lower school and gave presentations on their recent class project on women in STEAM to fourth grade students. 

In a ten-day tour, students walk through the history of the World Wars starting in Paris and then on to the beaches of Normandy, Dover, and London.

Upper school students with an interest in design, art, math, and/or technology took their learning outside of the classroom by participating in an industry visit to Peyton Home at The Maryland Design Center.

St. Paul's School for Boys varsity hockey team won the 2022 MIAA B conference championship with a 4-3 victory over Saints Peter & Paul.

Jabari Lyles joined The St. Paul’s Schools community in December for our faculty and staff professional development day.

The One St. Paul's Fund gifts support joyful traditions including the girls' 7th and 8th grade trips to Echo Hill to bond with classmates during orientation games and outdoor learning activities such as rock climbing and boating. 

Students explore science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics using 3-D printers and the 3-D Tinkercad modeling program, conceptualizing and printing their own designs. Gifts to the One St. Paul’s Fund make these unique hands-on learning opportunities possible.

During a day filled with hands-on exploration, students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of games and activities. Gifts to St. Paul's nurture curiosity and adventures every day.

Adventuring for our youngest learners begins at an early age. Our curious preschoolers are busy learning about colors and art through creative, hands-on experiences and sensory play.
