Episcopal Tradition

Our Episcopal Foundation:
Viewing every child as a child of God

As an Episcopal school, we believe that every child is a child of God. We value the belief that, as God’s children, we see the sacred in each other and in the world around us. Members of the community have time in their schedules to gather by division in order to hear, sing, and reflect on God’s word and to understand how it applies to life at St. Paul’s and in the world beyond our campus.

AS AN EPISCOPAL SCHOOL, WE ARE GROUNDED IN:

  • Academic excellence

  • A welcoming, inclusive environment

  • Reason and open inquiry

  • Tradition

THE FOUR PILLARS OF AN EPISCOPAL SCHOOL

  1. Chapel and worship – A religious space for all persons in the community and a place where all are affirmed.

  2. Ethos and community – We live in relationships to one another, to God, and to self. We care for one another and get to know one another, and these relationships are profound. This impacts our discipline, how we cultivate leadership, the ways that we tap the gifts of all students, and how we walk with our students.

  3. Religious studies and spiritual formation – Intellectual inquiry and exchange, as well as spiritual reflection and practice, guides spiritual discipline.

  4. Service and social justice – Commitment to serving God and others that is deeper than charity. We strive for transformation and advocacy.
