The Woodturning Studio
A SPACE FOR LEARNING, TEACHING, AND MAKING
Woodturning is the process of using a lathe and sharp tools to shape wood into household items such as bowls, table legs, baseball bats, and more. A modern lathe is a simple, electrically powered machine that spins wood quickly around a fixed axis. Much like the pottery wheel, the lathe allows turners to shape wood quickly and smoothly. Woodturning is easy to pick up but difficult to master. Many fine woodworkers have made turning their lifelong pursuit.
Classes will be held in the St. Paul's Wood Shop located between Kinsolving Gymnasium and the Price Building on the St. Paul's campus. Parking is accessible in lot H and I.
